The IntelliGRC Story

A (not too) long time ago...

After countless hours performing compliance determinations for NIST 800-171 requirements, founder Ozzie Saeed and other members of his team were determined to create a solution that would remove hurdles faced by federal contractors.

2016

In 2016, the original IntelliGRC group was incubated within Tiber Creek Consulting Inc. Seeking to alleviate process inefficiency, lack of scalability, and cost of traditional compliance methodologies, the team brainstormed concepts that inevitably coalesced into the IntelliGRC platform.

Seeing the potential for this technology to be applied across multiple industries and to solve a myriad of issues, the green light was given to start developing the foundation of the IntelliGRC data model.

2018

Over the course of the next couple of years, various Tiber Creek experts would contribute thoughts, methodologies, and solutions that would lead to the formation of the IntelliGRC core application version 1.0. In 2018, the team began offering cybersecurity gap assessment and remediation support services using the core application as a compliance tool.

Additionally, this year saw the foundation of our relationship with GENEDGE, the Virginia MEP. As part of their DEFEND CUI – VA program, DoD grant funding was allocated to support small businesses and defense contractors in meeting DFARS requirements.

2019

In 2019, customers were invited into the solution so they could provide feedback on what new features we could develop to solve their issues. This led to the development of the first Scanner Tool, a vital part of the platform that has helped organizations reduce time spent on compliance activities by up to 300%.

2019 also saw the start of our engagement with Blue Ridge Community College's GO Virginia Program. IntelliGRC offered paid internships and full-time positions to students as an extension of GENEDGE initiatives. This would spur our commitment to supplementing the cyber workforce. 2023 and beyond...

After collecting additional feedback from members and determining new strategies for users to interface with our tools, we released IntelliGRC 2.0 and the current iteration of the Recon Agent scanner tool.

We continue to make strides in adding additional frameworks to our repertoire, developing new features to simplify compliance, and seeing how we can guide organizations on their cybersecurity journey.

This would blossom into the IntelliGRC platform, to include the Scanner Tool and its several iterations, and a team of cybersecurity experts.

2023

After working diligently to mature our product, in 2023, the platform in its current state was deployed.
